Pepco Waterfront Substation

Pepco’s Waterfront Substation 223 in Buzzard Point was constructed to meet the anticipated electrical usage demands of customers. Construction on the four-acre site consisted of a 93,419-square-foot substation, as well as phase shifter yard. The design-build project was completed December 2017. This project consists of a 230,000 volt electrical utility substation and is located between the Nationals Stadium and the new DC United Stadium. This project occupies an entire city block in Southwest DC.
